When I was a student in 2006 I had the opportunity to visit some of my Egyptian university friends in Cairo. It was an amazing place with a great atmosphere and seemed to be a city that never slept! The mosques would wake you up early in the morning with the call to prayer and there would be lovely street cafes open very late into the night for socialising.

It is sad to know that this is a place of such political turmoil at present and we pray for peace in this city again.
